If you add a static IP in a core server, you may see that the auto-configuration is on and giving a 169.0.0.0 number as the preferred address and the new static IP as the duplicate address.

Sometimes when a network issue occurs, this can cause the IP to be fixed and the static IP that was set to not come through.

This document shows the steps to fix this issue.
